Mozambique

Our work in Mozambique seeks to achieve the following four goals:

Advance the quality of emergency care at our first public hospital, Mavalane hospital, by putting Mozambican emergency medicine residents there who will be taught by volunteer US emergency medicine specialists.

Continue to educate the Mozambican emergency medicine residents and ensure sustainability and ongoing high-quality training as the current Mozambican trainees move into leadership roles after completion of their training.

Disseminate basic emergency medical care training to non-specialist health professionals on the front lines, through courses like the Basic Emergency Care course.

Support local physicians in hosting Mozambique's first-ever conference on emergency medicine, which will bring together Portuguese-speaking physicians from around the world.
